Vitreoretinal surgery is one of the most complex fields of ophthalmology. It helps with retinal detachment, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, vitreous hemorrhage, and other diseases of the posterior segment of the eye. The main goal is to prevent vision loss and restore vision as much as possible.

SAIF OPTIMA performs vitrectomy, including in combination with lens replacement, tamponade and silicone oil removal, as well as intravitreal drug injections. Surgeons work with the ZEISS OPMI Lumera 700 surgical microscope with a built-in intraoperative OCT, which makes it possible to see retinal structures directly during surgery.

Process

How treatment works:

  • Diagnostics: fundus examination, OCT, and ocular ultrasound for an accurate assessment of the retina.
