About the service

Accurate diagnostics are the foundation of proper treatment. At SAIF OPTIMA, examinations are performed on modern equipment that makes it possible to detect eye diseases at an early stage, when they are easier to treat.

We check visual acuity and refraction, measure intraocular pressure, and perform perimetry, gonioscopy, pachymetry, and B-scan ultrasound. Advanced tests include OCT angiography, anterior segment analysis on the CASIA 2, ZEISS ATLAS and iTrace topography, non-contact biometry for IOL calculation, endothelial microscopy, and dry eye assessment on the LacryDiag.

How the examination works:

  • Talking with the doctor: your complaints, medical history, and previous examinations.
  • Instrumental diagnostics: the set of tests is tailored to your needs — a preventive check-up, preparation for surgery, or monitoring of a condition.
  • Ophthalmologist's examination: the doctor reviews the results and examines the fundus.

FAQ

An initial examination takes 20 to 40 minutes. Comprehensive diagnostics before surgery may take 2–3 hours.

Bring your glasses if you wear them, as well as the results of previous examinations. It is best to remove soft contact lenses in advance — the administrator will tell you the exact timing when you book. If the doctor dilates your pupils, it is best not to drive after the visit.

For adults without complaints, we recommend a preventive check-up once a year; after 40, it should always include an intraocular pressure measurement. If you have an eye condition, the doctor will determine how often you need to visit.

Children can be examined from the age of 1, and a full initial examination is performed from the age of 4. There is a dedicated SAIF OPTIMA KIDS department for children.

Yes, in most cases the examination is performed on the day of your visit. To avoid waiting, we recommend booking in advance.
